Black Market Rhythm Co. has been recording under various guises since 2004 and earlier CDs are pretty much impossible to find in stores or on iTunes, so we thought we'd make a selection of MP3s from our back catalogue available for download (right-click on the tracks to save them). Feel free to share this page with anyone you like, and again, thanks SO much for supporting us.
Oh, and if you like what you hear, make sure you sign up to our mailing list over there on the right, you'll be the first to hear new songs and get tour dates!
New EP: We're All Meant to Fall
Released in August 2010, this four track EP is a limited-edition precursor to Black Market Rhythm Co.'s long-anticipated sophomore album. Mastered in New York by Scott Reed (whose credits include Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Mercury Rev and Gogol Bordello) and produced in Brisbane by Andrei Maberley, this recording is available only from blackmarketrhythmco.com in either CD or MP3 format.
New Single: Looked Good in the Daylight
We finished mixing this song in December 2009 and it's the first single we're going to release from our forthcoming album. Triple J has already given it a bit of a run and you can grab it from their Unearthed website.
Low-Fi Records, Hi-Fi Radio
Our debut album from 2008 earned us a four star review in The Australian and was voted the #4 roots album of the year by Triple J listeners. The track Lucky Star featured on Channel 7's City Homicide and the disc has sold over 2,000 physical copies and a lot more downloads. Here's a selection of tracks.
Morning, Evening, Afternoon EP
Released in 2007 this 8-track mini album was our 'rootsiest'. 1,000 copies were sold but it's impossible to find now. The track 'True Love' received a lot of airplay on Triple J and community radio around the world. The Blind Will lead us is one of our better Slide Guitar tracks.
Ain't For Sale EP
Released in 2006, Ain't For Sale was our first commercial success and the title track is still the most played song of ours on Triple J and community radio. We still get requests for Unlucky Man, so we thought we'd put it up here.
Christopher Ernst EP
Before we were called Black Market Rhythm Co. we released an EP under Christopher Ernst's name. Lovin' Life is still a bit of a cult hit and Living in Ecstasy was the first song of ours to receive airplay on Triple J
